But I'm feeling much better now.Been Better

January 07, 2004

I haven't be my self the last few days. I took a vacation between Christmas and New Year. I thinkknow I exhausted myself. I played golf five out of six days trying to keep up with my buddy who is 13 years younger than I am. But golf shouldn't have anything to do with being sick right?

So after 3 days of really feeling rotten I got completely sick last night. I’m on OTC medication now and can sit up for up to three minutes at a time.

Three minutes? Aahhh, just enough to make a post. Truly a blogger among bloggers.

Now, I know this is a bad word, especially for most MEN, but have you considered going to the "Doctor"? Maybe you already have (reference to OTC=overthecounter?) but listen, at our age, the flu can take serious side-trips...kind of like the old road trips we used to take, where we made a beer-induced wrong turn and ended up down at the dead-end of a long dirt road?

Except these side trips on influenza aren't as much fun and the title "Dead-End Kids" yields much more meaning.

You've had this ailment since you flew, right? A plane-full of world-weary travelers, muffling coughs behind hands, bugs hitchhiking on their coattails. It's a Long Time to feel crappy. Hopefully it's just taking its sweet time to move on to the next victim. Evidently this particular strain is leather-like in its ability to endure, surviving treatment, laughing at our attempts to tan and work it into a supple, more manageable suede.
Bite the belt, go see the Doc. Maybe he'll give you a shot of whiskey.
