But I'm feeling much better now.Ancient Iron Part Two
I had a birthday today. Usually I announce my birthday to anyone and everyone including strangers and small animals. I would put up banners and wave flags. Hey it’s my birthday guys, it’s my birthday. This was the first time I really wasn't sure that I was going to say anything about it at all.
Of course this is the first time I will be fifty-five. It seems like such a milestone. I once had a car that was wheezing and puffing towards 99999 miles. One day the car would have to flip over all five of the little wheels on the odometer at once. I wasn't really sure if the car had enough get up and go and could imagine coming to a screeching halt when that last tenth of a mile had passed. That was the way I was thinking about this birthday.
I know that there is at least one blogger older than I am but not by much. Yet I do not consider myself as old. I am not old yet. I am having too much fun to be old. In fact I see many people half my age that are older than I am. I will admit I have found advantages to having a grey mustache; the security at Best Buy no longer deems me a threat and I can leave the store without having my purchases prodded and fondled.
I am having the time of my life right now. Mostly because of the people I’ve met through Noded over the last year or two. You people have so much potential, so much passion, so much intellect; you have cut my age in half. I can’t wait for the next 55 years.

"I can't drive -- 55!"
Happy Birthday, you old coot. :)
I don't feel but half my age, either, so we must be doing something right. I am so glad that I made your acquaintance!

Hello! This is my first time visit and I like what I see! (including my name on your blog list - wow thanks!)
Belated birthday greetings from someone a bit older than you :-)

Jim, you wrote "I know that there is at least one blogger older than I am but not by much."
Well Jim, I was 60 this month and am still blogging . . .

So, if you're still young, I get to be young too right??? That's great news. Course it also means I may have to return the present I have waiting down here for you. Hmmm. Glad to hear your birthday was a nice day. Also glad to hear that the musuem is still there.

Happy Birthday Jim! I'll see what you have to say in another 55 years about the changes you've seen.
