Interesting ThoughtsWatching The Time

July 01, 2004

I’m beginning to wonder if the days of the wristwatch are numbered. I usually don’t wear mine around the house anymore and I find that I have to take it off when I’m at a client’s office because it gets in the way of hot and heavy keyboarding.

It’s not that I don’t know the time. There is a constant glow in my house at night from all the appliances with build in time display. My cell phone keeps the correct time for whichever time zone I’m in and all of my computers are using the Internet to keep me up to date time wise.

So why wear a watch? I don’t know of a reason other than I feel naked without it and seeing Mr. Noded naked is something that I would have to charge for.

That last line made me guffaw. Thanks.

Oh, and I quit wearing a watch years ago. I feel so much better. And Himself is actually finding 'personal freedom' by leaving it on the bedstand while home on days off and when on vacation. Kind of like not wearin' any unnerwears.

I totally know what you mean--when I forget to wear my watch I end up looking at my arm a million times only to find that it's still a freckle past a hair. =)
