Stuff I’m observing here at Noded North.
- NodedSouth survived the latest hurricane madness in part, I think, because of the new roof we put on in May.
- Trying to come up with a way to keep Florida from being hammered by hurricanes other than moving it to California. One idea I came up with would have the government install air bags along the coast. The air bags would pop up deflecting the hurricanes back into the ocean. Hey, the cleanup will cost somewhere around $20 billion. How many air bags in a billion dollars?
- Thinking about how everyone is starting to get camera phones. The next step will be grafting camera phones directly to our bodies so that it can continually take pictures as we move about our daily lives. The government may soon require that you take a picture of where you are every few minutes so that it can make sure that you are not doing anything illegal.
- Wondering how the BORG (from Star Trek) got started. I’m guessing someone thought it would be a good idea to attach a camera to their body so that it could take pictures every few minutes.
- Thinking about all the time and effort that people have put into restoring old cars, boats, and homes. I wonder if some day they will do the same for people. “Mr. Noded is a completely restored 1949 model that is now garage kept and is only run on nice sunny days.”
