I loved that speech. Kerry, for the first time, looked on the outside as he truly is on the inside. He is graceful, elegant, articulate, a caring and compassionate statesman, who would have worked hard to heal our wounded reputation. He even reminded me of a younger Billy Graham, or perhaps even the neighborhood minister, wise, inspirational.

This was a particular point of note in his speech:

"We must join in common effort without remorse or recrimination, without anger or rancor. America is in need of unity and longing for a larger measure of compassion.

I hope President Bush will advance those values in the coming years."

Longing for a larger measure of compassion...
