StuffThe Mouse That Worked
Just picked up a new laptop to replace Dudley who is just about 4 years old now. Dudley is a 600mhz Dell with a 20gig drive and 256meg of memory. Dudley served well for four years without a single failure other that the fact that it came with Windows ME. I cured that problem with a larger hard drive and Windows XP. Dudley will soon be moving to Nodedett One's house.
The replacement system is another Dell that I have named Mr. Peabody. Mr. Peabody just spent his first day working. Mr Peabody has a 2.8ghz processor, a 40 gig drive and 512 megs of memory. He also cost me about half of what Dudley cost.
I had to buy a new mouse as Dudley's was a PS2 mouse and Mr. Peabody does not have a PS2 port. I found an great litlle notebook mouse made by Logitech.
The mouse is USB and works on Mr. Peabody and Natasha the iBook without any software load. It is smaller than a normal size mouse and has a groove around the outside to wrap the cord when not in use. The USB plug has a snap that fits into the bottom of the mouse. I love that you can wrap up the cord around the mouse and lock the USB plug down protecting the optical sensor. I found mine at Best Buy for less than list price of course.
If you need a travel mouse I would highly recommend this one. It's so cute all wrapped up in itself. Good job Logitech.

We're thinking we might almost be ready to become adoptive parents ourselves. Laptops now seem so much more inexpensive and easy to care for, easy to take on road trips, and if they already come with their own pet mouses, even better.

I still find your computer names amusing! I think it's a clever idea and worth a smile.
