Questions With No AnswerWhat Horse, The Barn Is Closed!

North Carolina is busy getting ready to make sure that no state employee has any games including the standard ones that come with Windows on state PC's [link]. It appears that the employees have nothing to do so they are spending their time playing Windows solitare.

"You can walk down the hall and see bored state employees with solitaire on their computer screens," said Allran

After the purge the employees will still be bored they just won't be playing solitare.

That sounds so "last week" or "last year" or "so 1990's". I haven't seen anyone playing solitaire in years, yea I think it has been years. Is NC that far behind or maybe they don't have Internet connections :-)

Maybe it was removed from our PCs. Hadn't thought of that (I work for another government). I've never played solitaire at home or at work. Guess their jobs are really boring.

It's difficult to find fault with your logic. Dang bureaucrats!

1994 - I had a big fight with my manager. Being the PC Specialist, I was told to remove solitaire from all the computers in the building. (Seems the owner was giving a tour at the 3:00 break time and lo and behold an end user was playing solitaire!)

So I was to remove the games on all computers, except those that were located in an office with a door. Well, only managers had offices with doors. We went round and round. I eventually quit in 1995.
