I don't feel very secure tonight. I hope that no one on Air Force One flushed the toilets as it flew over New Orleans surveying the damage.

It seems way to easy to ask what the Department of Homeland Security has been doing for the last 4 years. It appears not much. It's a little late for the Big Easy, but I would want Homeland Security to have a plan in place to be able to put a 1000 person force in any location in the US within 24 hrs. A thousand trained men and women with a leader to take charge. A thousand people with EMT training. A thousand people with people skills. A thousand people with phasers set to stun. That would be a start. That's were I would want my tax dollars to go. Be it national disaster or man-made we do not have the luxury of time in events like this.

It also seems that FEMA could find someone other than Pat Robertson as second on the list of organizations to donate to.
