Unclear On ConceptSpiraling Down

September 02, 2005

From a speach today by the President of the United States:

And I'm not looking forward to this trip. I got a feel for it when I flew over before. It -- for those who have not -- trying to conceive what we're talking about, it's as if the entire Gulf Coast were obliterated by a -- the worst kind of weapon you can imagine. And now we're going to go try to comfort people in that part of the world.

Mr President New Orleans is not a foreign country, it is not "that part of the world". It is part of yourour country. You need to be there it is not a trip you can look forward to. It is a trip we all have to make.

Also contained in the speach is this gem:

Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house -- he's lost his entire house -- there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch. (Laughter.)

How much of the $10.5 billion will be earmarked for that?

While I never say anything political, primarily because I have fully supported our President during the election and always patriotic I do have a comment today.

Mr. Bush, shut up and put out more money. Help our people, help them today. Help our families that we haven't heard from. Show us that you are American by birth and by the grace of God. Help our family. Today. Not tomorrow.
