PhotographyDetails
I've been thinking about the detail and care that people have put into wooden boats. This is an oarlock from a wooden rowboat. The oar is wraped in leather. This must be an almost silent way to travel on water.
I think we all need to be able to put that kind of detail into something we do. Some do it with boats made of wood, others craft motorcycles, others craft quilts of magic detail. The lucky people are the ones that get to be detailed in their jobs. They are given the time to do right, to create with detail. I like to do that with code. Unlike the oarlock you never get to seem my work and if I do it right you never notice it. The detail is in the knowledge that you've crafted it as well as you can.
