Unclear On ConceptPiano DRM

October 04, 2005

Betsy has a post on a replica harpsichord. Through a series of mind leaps triggered by the word technology and the picture of a Mozart era harpsichord I suddenly realized that the RIAA should be demanding a "broadcast" flag on pianos. It would stop you from playing any copyrighted music. Try to play the theme song from "The Sting" and no sound comes out.

Rush right out and buy one of those not will I. But then I would guess that most of Mozart's tunes would be coming out of copyright any day now.

I used to hear a stranger practicing on their harpsicord when I lived in Amsterdam. It was always haunting to hear that sound filtering across yards in the city.

roflmao--I hope your imagined future is still quite far off. Isn't that what being a "visionary" means?
