Tech OverloadMore On Net Neutrality
Look here to see a video on why net neutrality is important. Watch it while you still can as any ISP will be able to block it if we don't pay attention to what is going on.
Meanwhile David Weinberger, author of Small Pieces Loosely Joined and one of the smartest people around, explains why Net Neutrality matters.
Remember when democracy had something to do with all people being equal? With ensuring that our institutions don't get too powerful? Net neutrality has made the Internet a great equalizer, not just for Americans but for voices around the world. The end of Net neutrality puts control over the flow of bits in the hands of powers that are literally entrenched.[Link]

I still don't get the big deal. Is this still the issue regarding some ISPs that want to provide better service to certain portions of the internet (such as their own content)? If so, I don't see a problem. As a consumer, I'd get the same performance I currently am paying for to most of the web but faster performance to some sites.
Sounds like a nice situation to me?
It's not a problem until the ISPs intentionally degrade access to some sites, or stop offering good services to the internet at large.
