Steve Gillmor has been quiet lately, must have been working hard on his GestureBank project and other things. Today he materializes at the OnHollywood Conference in LaLa Land where he skewers the gathered and puts forth his usual bold statements.

The whole panel, led by D's Kara Swisher, beat up on Apple for not showing up. Me, I thought it totaly appropriate given the chimp mentality at work among the rent-a-track hypesters. [Link]

Sometimes when you hang around Steve you get the feeling that he makes statements because its been a long day or just to get a reaction or maybe he is talking through his hat.
