Everything ElseVery Important Person

November 5, 2006

It seems that I have become a very important person. Apparently Laura Bush called me the other day. I say apparently because Mrs. Noded screens my calls and told me Laura Bush called but Mrs Noded didn't save the message for me. I think it's because I told Laura that she should talk about politics if a lady answers the phone...

Then Dennis Hassert himself called me. Well I think it was Dennis Hassert, he mumbled his name so badly I had a hard time telling. How can anyone become the Speaker of the House when they can't even speak their own name?

True confession time, these were recorded messages. I really don't know these people. (Hey, that statement seems to work in Washington).

I just found out from Rick Klau that Indiana has a law against these recorded messages [Link] so the Republicans outsouced their phone barrage to India.

"Please be excusing me and vote for our repubelicans thank you very well."

We got a call last week from none other than Bill Clinton hisownself. His message urged us to go to the polls and vote for Ford in the US Senate race here in Tennessee. Which we cannot do. Because we've already done it... If this was Alabama or Mississippi or Florida or Ohio, we could probably vote a second time... if we were Republicans. Which we're not. But this is Tennessee and we do things fair and square here... Right?
