But I'm feeling much better now.Of Thoughts, Posts, Toast
While Winston is spending a large amount of time tweaking his next missive from nobody asked… he frets about not posting for 5 days. I on the other hand never get to a five day old thought, I usually find that if I hold on to an idea more that about two days it becomes out of date what with the speed of the internet and all. It becomes something that I throw away rather than being associated with warmed over toast.
Not to say Winston isn't cooking up something good, just that the thoughts that I have lose their relevance after a few days. Writing for this blog is still like jazz to me. I rarely know exactly what I'm going to say when I start a post and I'm often surprised where it goes when it's done. Nor do I have to do a lot of editing to get it right. I have one full proof method of editing these posts. I remove every second word I write and find the post is much better for it.

I did a post like that recently. I started out, fully intending to talk about my aversion to (most) drugs, and the paraphenalia that goes along with them, and ended up purging my conscience about an only-slightly related incident from when I was tethered to an idiot.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who does that :)

And as you are well aware, much of the ... ah, uh, er ... literary work I publish is quite like that. The magnum opus in progress is another one of those long, extended belches, or maybe just flatulence, about a particularly memorable day from my just-past-puberty years. Watch for it. And please try to stay awake to the end...
