PhotoshopLearning

In the comments Stu Savory asked what I would do with his panorama of his local village in Germany. I pulled it down and punched it up a bit as it was a bit underexposed.

What was interesting to me was the fact that I have learned enough about photo manipulation to know that to correct the exposure I was going to end up with a higher contrast image that I could further correct but lowering the mid-tone contrast. I am beginning to understand what is happening when you slide those sliders. I'm also getting better at evaluating images and knowing what needs to be done to them. I hope Stu liked the results it was a fun assignment. Anyone else need their images adjusted?

Your photos are always so beautiful. I so admire you for learning and, in my view, mastering the intricacies of photo software. I have a couple of the less expensive ones (and Gimp, which is free), and it's like trying to read a foreign language for me.

Thanks for doing that, JR. Your result looked TOO contrasty on my old monitor here though. There were pieces which were just black rather than showing some detail, si I've left it as it is. Sorry.
