This morning I was looking at one of the tech web sites at the some of the new phones coming out trying to compete with the iPhone. They all still had keypads for dialing. Keypads are obsolete. When you think about it the key pad is used for just a fraction of the time you use a device. Yet they are still around taking up real estate that could be used by a screen, a touch screen. I got an iPod touch for Christmas, Mrs Noded has had one since they came out in September. It takes about 10 minutes to get used to the keyboard probably less for the iPhone's numeric touch pad. It just makes so much more sense.

Touch is the future, mechanical keypads are an artifact that should be relegated to the past.
