But I'm feeling much better now.Stubborn

March 21, 2008

It's Friday night the second day of spring. The temperature has reached 32 degrees after being below freezing all day long. There are 5 inches of new snow on my driveway. But it is the second day of spring and I am being stuborn. I haven't turned up the heat in the house since it is the second day of spring. I have a heating pad on the floor keeping my feet warm because it is the second day of spring and I am stubborn but no fool. Cold feet suck.

I've been watching Eric Clapton's Crossroad Concert on the local Hi-Def Public Broadcasting channel. With the exception of Sheryl Crow there is a lot of grey hair on stage. This morning Jeneane Sessum linked to the recent Genesis Concert. Two of the band members have gray hair. Phil Collins has none. Rock and Roll is aging. Aging gracefully I'd say. Rock and Roll is populated by stubborn musicians. Master players who are still creating great music. Musicians that know that the the best way to make music is to do it stubbornly, letting the music transcend time and age.

It's great to be stubborn.

Well, I'm gonna try this again. Your comment god was not kind to me the first time and doomed my words to an eternity in orbit around the outermost planet, whatever its name this week...

On 3/14 I posted a YouTube of Buffalo Springfield in concert back in the late '60s. In searching for that, I also came across many others of them and other bands performing now, like in this century. It was shocking to see so many gray and bald heads, and so many bellies that looked like they stepped out of my mirror.
