Tech OverloadPHP Blues
I never could do much with the C programming language. Every time I would start a project I would have to write a number of routines to handle strings. I get frustrated by having to spend my times writing tools when I could be writing applications. I'm having somewhat the same issue with PHP at the moment. Spending all my time trying to figure out what I have and why I always am a module short when it comes to writing code.
I may have been spoiled by using the .net environment and Visual Studio with all the bells and whistles. I just haven't found the enviroment for really making it easy for building web applications using the LAMP technologies.
I've been writing C# web apps as well as C# windows apps for a number of years now. I may have purchased two books on C# to get started. I must now have a least a dozen PHP books. Every single one of which requires the installation of a third part module just to get stuff done. I'm not a happy camper.
