Boring Life StuffLast Round
It's hard to think that I play my last round of golf at Bonnie Dundee Golf Club. I've been the course pretty much since I took up golf about 7 years ago. The first time I played the course I was paired up with a guy who had been playing the course since he was 16. He was 66 when we played and he still played pretty well. The course was built in 1928.
I think of Bonnie Dundee as my home course for Noded North. It was easy to get to and while it has a lot of challenging par 4's you don't get in much trouble there unless you mess up 9 and 17 which are right along side the highway. I may have played my best round at today shooting an 82. Usually if you play later on a Sunday afternoon and you get into the par 5 13th you start to hear a mexican band that always seems to be playing not far from the course. I think there must be a mexican bar near by. Anyway the music is not loud enough to be distracting and is sort of a signature of the course to me. For a park district course it is in really good condition and has improved over the last 7 years.
So today was probably the last time I will play there and I will miss the course and the people that have worked their that have made me feel welcome. And the course itself finally gave me a bit of a goodbye with a good round.
