I just watched the time delayed NBC coverage of the Olympics Closing Ceremony, mostly because I has already seen the episodes of Big Bang about a hundred times. I'm not that fond of the "summer" sports so I had not watched much else of the games. I think it was a shame that NBC's decision to delay the games to prime time really was a poke at the wonderful athletes that competed as well as the viewing public that was much more sophisticated then the powers that be at the network.

There has not be a real reason to time delay anything since they launched Telstar back in the 60's and the choice to edit out parts of the opening and closing ceremonies shows that NBC just doesn't get that we are not still in the 1950's. That kind of thinking just doesn't cut it anymore.
