I've been lusting after the new Nikon D600 since it came out last year. The camera is not cheap. Over the holidays Nikon promoted a sale where they not only took $100 off the price of the camera body, they threw in a 24 to 85mm VR zoom lens for free. That was a total saving of $700 dollars. On the last day of the sale I finally caved and ordered. It arrived this afternoon.
I will be testing it out over the next few days. Looking forward to some actual sun. Full review will follow. From what I could determine today, the camera is very nice. I'm going through the manual now. For the most part it behaves much as my other Nikon cameras. The controls are simular.
The real advantage is the full frame sensor which creates 24megbit files. There is a lot of detail in these files. Can't wait to shrink them down to the 500px images I post here. Lots more to come.
