What Would Kermit Do

Ignite is a series of get togethers where each participant has 5 minutes and (i think) 20 slides to present an idea. There are quite a number of them around the US. Keep and eye out for one in your area. This is one of the better ones that explains the best of all this social media we are now swimming in and why it's a good thing. Jim Henson was way ahead of his time.

From The Ground Up

Just after the first of the month I moved my corporate headerquaters to a new office on the other side of the building. The previous office shared the air conditioning unit with the telephone equipment closet. Unfortunatly the temperature of the closet dictated when the air conditioning was on. It would get quite cold. The new room is slightly smaller than the old office but it has more closet space. I am much more comfortable there.

World Rally Championship

Thanks to HD Theater I've become addicted to the World Rally Championship know as WRC. It' is probably the only type of racing that I don't think I would like to see live as it's mostly run on gravel roads in forests and in temperature extremes. You don't get to see a lot of the cars as they come flying by, nothing like an oval track. But I do like to watch it on television. The television show does a good job of displaying the personalites of the drivers and team managers. The Mexico Rally is on HD Theater tonight at 10pm eastern with a recap on Sunday night.

Whose Idea Was It Anyway

I wonder whose idea was the idea of drive letters for mounting disk drives under windows. Iusuall have about 26 Mounted at any one times. I would hope Windows 7 would not have them but I don't hold out much hope. On the Mac you just name the drive.

Middle Of March Stuff

Drink Stuff: Mrs Noded and I have rediscovered Root Beer.
Rain Stuff: Drove down to Nodette(2)'s house today in what only can be called a deluge. First time I think I was in a white out without snow. The spray was pretty intense today. There was from 7 to 9 inches of rain today in parts of Florida where I was.
Sun Stuff: It has be the 5th coldest winter on record at Noded South (maybe the first coldest since Noded South was founded). I finally had a warm enough day to wear shorts to the golf course. I think my knees are sun burned.

I think I've been doing it wrong. Then again I think I've replace all my shirts with the wrinkle free variety.

Babies Getting Bigger

Glad to see the young ones are growing, one much more than the others. The parents are still not letting them go to far afield. They should be about a month old now.

Popular Science On Line

I'm not sure but I think it a right of passage into manhood that a one time or another you become fascinated with Popular Science magazine. Possibly due the fact that most doctor, dentists, and oil change stores have several years of back issues in the waiting rooms. Now Google and Popular Science have put all 137 years of Popular Science on line. Here is a link to a 1959 issue of the magazine found when I searched on air car. Sure enough some Doctor invented one and is featured in an article on "Cars Without Wheels". Interesting to see how many of the features of the magazine are still familiar to me even if I haven't seen an issue for quite some time. It is also interesting to see the adds change as you scroll thru the pages.
